The Town of Maynard’s Emergency Management staff wishes to remind residents of the continued danger of falling trees and downed utility lines.
While the majority of the storm is over, the heavy snow on trees can still bring down trees, branches, and live wires. Caution should be used in any outdoor area where snow covered branches are present. Remember that any downed utility wire should be considered live and dangerous.
There are about 470 customers without power in Maynard as of 6pm on Thursday. Crews are working statewide where more than 300,000 are without power today, so restoring power to everyone will take some time.
Trees and branches that fell into streets are being moved to roadsides and will be picked up by DPW staff over the next few days after critical storm cleanup has been completed.

Thank you, and stay warm and safe throughout the duration of the storm.
