 The Fire Station is manned on a 24 hour basis by 4 shifts, each consisting of 1 Captain and 4 Firefighters. Each shift mans 3 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, 1 Ambulance, and 1 Brush Fire Truck. In such cases where more manpower is required,
off-duty personnel are called back to the Fire Station and Mutual Aid by surrounding communities is requested to assist in covering the Fire Station or assisting at the scene.
To maintain our high level of service and safety to Maynard, the Maynard Fire Department continually maintains and improves the resources dedicated to public safety. We constantly review our Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines to keep them up to date with modern practices. We try and keep abreast of new equipment and technologies as they relate to changes in the field of Fire Protection and Medical Technologies. We keep our apparatus and equipment up to date as possible to meet the needs of our customers. We provide an ambulance service that is second to none. Other areas of activity include:
 Ongoing firefighting training for all personnel.
 Fire Station maintenance.
 Fire apparatus and equipment maintenance.
 Pump and hose testing.
 Fire hydrant maintenance (including shoveling hydrants during winter storms).
 Inspections.
 Fire Safety Programs in schools.
