AERIAL APPLICATIONS TO CONTROL MOSQUITO LARVAE (updated 18-Apr-2017)
The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project will be conducting a helicopter application of the biological larvicide, Bti, to control mosquito larvae over large wetland areas in Maynard.Wetlands currently being considered for this application are located near George Rd., Old Marlboro Rd. and Rockland Ave.The application will be conducted between April 19 and April 27. The Bti will be applied in a granular formulation by a helicopter flying low directly over the wetlands. Residents do not need to take any special precautions for this application.
The material to be applied Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis) is a natural bacterium found in soil. The EPA classifies Bti as a relatively non-toxic pesticide.Bti is considered a target selective and environmentally compatible pesticide that affects mosquito larvae and a few closely related aquatic insects in the fly family.Once applied Bti stays suspended in water for 24 to 48 hours and then biodegrades as it settles to the bottom. The product name of the Bti is VectoBac G (EPA Reg.#73049-10).

The Maynard Board of Selectmen held a Public Hearing on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 7:55 P.M. in Room 201 of the Maynard Town Building for the purposes of amending the Town Water and Sewer Rates. The new water and sewer rates are as follows:
WATER – in Town
SEWER – in Town
Water – non – resident
SEWER – non- resident

On Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 7:15 PM, in the Michael J. Gianotis room 201, the Maynard Board of Selectmen will hold a Taking Hearing with respect to Cutting Drive, Dettling Road, and Vose Hill Road, as all are shown on a plan entitled “Definitive Subdivision Plan of Vose Hill Farms – Maynard, Mass”, prepared by Colburn Engineering, Inc., dated June 3, 1985, recorded with the Middlesex Registry of Deeds as Plan 188 of 1986. The purpose of the Hearing will be to vote on the issuance of Orders of Taking for Cutting Drive, Dettling Road, and Vose Hill Road for the purpose of accepting them as public ways.
The Maynard Board of Health (MBOH) is holding a hearing at Maynard Town Hall, 195 Main St., Maynard, MA to amend Regulations Restricting the Sale of Tobacco & Nicotine Delivery Products on June 28, 2016, 6:30 pm. Revisions include, but are not limited to, restricting flavored tobacco products to adult only tobacco retail stores, sales near schools restrictions, raise the purchase age to 21 & updated wording. The Maynard Board of Selectmen are providing this notice of intent to name The Lower Level room at Town Hall known as Room 101 to be named as the Stewart T. Campbell Room number 101 at the Town Hall Municipal Building 195 Main Street Maynard, MA.
