The Board of Assessors is seeking a new member

The Town of Maynard is seeking a Maynard residents to serve as members of the Maynard Board of Assessors.  The Board of Assessors consists of three members, each serving for a three year term.  They are responsible for working with the Town’s Chief Assessor in carrying out the state’s requirements which establishes fair market value of real and personal property for tax purposes and many other assessing requirements.  The Board must follow state laws and guidelines.  Board members must obtain state certification from the Department of Revenue for the purpose of voting authority as a member of the board.    The board meets when necessary which is usually six to seven times a year.  This is a volunteer position.   Interested applicants can submit a letter of interest, detailing relevant qualifications and a resume to:  Board of Selectman, c/o Town Administrator Greg Johnson, 195 Main St, Maynard MA 01754 or email at gjohnson@townofmaynard.net
