Baker-Polito Administration Announces Plans for Continued Reopening

Face Coverings Order to be Relaxed for Some Outdoor Settings
On April 27, 2021, the Baker-Polito Administration announced that Massachusetts will reopen some outdoor Phase 4, Step 2 industries effective May 10th and put plans in place for further reopening on May 29th and August 1st. The Administration continues to take steps to reopen the Commonwealth’s economy with public health metrics continuing to trend in a positive direction. This includes drops in average daily COVID cases and hospitalizations. Massachusetts remains first in the nation for first vaccine doses and total doses administered per capita, among states with more than 5 million people. The Administration will also relax the Face Coverings Order for some outdoor settings, effective April 30th.

 Massachusetts residents are advised to continue following recommendations outlined by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in order to limit their risk of exposure to COVID-19. For information on the steps recommended by The Massachusetts Department of Public Health please click here.

Maynard clinics for Maynard residents have not been scheduled yet due to vaccine shortages for local health departments

Town staff and the Maynard Board of Health are considering the feasibility of localized vaccination operations. It should be expected to be reliant on cooperation with regional entities and state agencies. If you know someone over 75 who does not have internet access or who are unable to schedule their appointment online can call toll free 2-1-1 or (877) 211-6277 for assistance.

Need a ride? Those over 75 who wish to request a ride to a vaccination site may call Maynard Police Dispatch at 978-897-1011 or email Chief Noble at, and are asked to give at least two days notice.   (Read more about this on the MPD website.)
