The Town of Maynard Conservation Commission seeks a new member to join this five-member Commission. This Commission is responsible for managing the Town’s conservation lands and protecting our wetlands through the Wetlands Protection Act, Riverfront Protection Act and Maynard Wetlands Administration Bylaw. The Commissioners primary work consists of reviewing projects within 100 feet of wetlands or 200 ft from a river. The Commission decides on such a development based on compliance with State and local wetland laws. This Commission also develops bylaws, rules, and regulations regarding conservation issues for the Town. We encourage residents with the following experience or education backgrounds to apply: civil or environmental engineering, storm water management, environmental planning, wetlands biology or ecology. New Commissioners will be required to complete the MACC fundamentals Certificate Program within one year of their appointment.
New Commissioners must be available for meetings most 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 6pm.
