Maynard is Jumping!

The Maynard Planning Board is looking for residents who want to make a difference.

Join the Planning Board as an alternate. It’s a great way to get involved in your community’s future development.

Please send a letter of interest to bnemser@townofmaynard.net explaining your general qualifications and why you think you would make a good member of the Planning Board.

What is the Planning Board?

The Planning Board is the custodian of the Town’s Zoning By-laws; reviews and acts on Site Plan and Subdivision Reviews/Approvals; prepares the Town Master Plan; and often is a Special Permit Granting Authority for development-related applications.

Where and when does the Planning Board meet?

The Board typically meets at Town Hall on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

What are the requirements for becoming a member of the Planning Board?

While there is no specific list of qualifications, each Planning Board member’s personal and professional experience informs their approach. If you feel you have subject-matter knowledge in areas relevant to the Planning Board (such as civil engineering, land use, or local history), please let us know! If not, don’t worry—as an alternate you will have the opportunity to attend classes and gain valuable experience with the Board. Each member of the Planning Board began as an alternate.
