The Department of Public Works is providing an update to the recent three days of sporadic discoloration calls, and forms received specific to the areas surrounding Percival Street, Randall Road, and Espie Avenue. After a thorough investigation, we have learned that a contractor in the area was illegally utilizing fire hydrants for their operations, which will cause disturbances to the water quality in and around those locations. We have placed the contractor on notice, and informed Eversource the general contractor of this issue.
