AvalonBay Communities has filed an application with Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) to develop a multifamily complex, under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40B, at 182 Parker Street, where it will be known as “Kanso Maynard”. MHP will now consider issuing a “project eligibility letter” (PEL), which, if issued, authorizes the proposed project to move forward under the provisions of Chapter 40B for the project. The proposed 200 units include approximately eighty (80) one-bedroom units, one hundred (100) two-bedroom units, and twenty (20) three-bedroom units.
As of August 27, 2024, the project is in a 30-day comment period. During this period, the Town collects and organizes comments it believes should be factored into MHP's decision of whether to issue a PEL.
All boards and committees, as well as individuals, are requested to provide factual and succinct written comments they believe MHP should consider when reviewing AvalonBay’s PEL application.
Comments should be provided to the Office of Municipal Services (oms@townofmaynard.net) no later than September 20, 2024. The comment period has been extended to October 4, 2024.
