
Q: What is the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA)?
A: The ZBA hears requests for Special Permits and Variances for land use and/or development. The ZBA also hears appeals from parties unable to obtain a building permit, and matters involving enforcement action under Massachusetts state law and the Maynard Zoning Bylaws.
Q: Where and when does the ZBA meet?
A: Meetings are typically held the fourth Monday of each month. All meetings are held remotely on Zoom.
Q: What are the requirements for becoming a member of the ZBA?
A: While there is no specific list of qualifications, each Board member’s personal and professional experience informs their approach. Town-sponsored educational training is
available for members!
