Responsibilities of the Economic Development Committee

The purpose of the Town of Maynard Economic Development Committee is to advise the Town Administrator on matters related to economic development.

The Committee is responsible for

  • Collaborating with Town Administrator to articulate an economic development vision for the Town
  • Developing collaborative relationships with Town Departments, Boards, committees, and other partners. For example:
    • Select Board
    • Planning Board
    • Parking Authority
    • FinCom
    • Others, as needed
  • Developing infrastructure for developing and implementing economic development programs, creating pilot programs or demonstrating proof-of-concept for economic development initiatives

Responsibilities of Individual Committee Members

Each individual committee member is expected to:

  • Be an ambassador for the Town's economic development vision
  • Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve the Committee's goals
  • Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in Committee meetings
  • Participate fully in at least one sub-committee
  • Read background material such as Master Plan, Economic Development Principles, and other materials as-needed
  • Identify sub-committee participants and future Committee members.
