Department of Public Works Facility Feasibility Study 2025
The Town of Maynard had one of their on-call Consultants, LiRo Corporation conduct a Feasibility Study for the replacement of the current aged Town Department of Public Works facilities located at 38 Winter Street.
The intent of the Feasibility Study was to conduct a complete and comprehensive facility and site evaluation of existing conditions and evaluate recommended approaches to address the Town of Maynard’s Public Works Facilities existing deficiencies. This initial phase of the project will investigate the construction of a new/enlarged DPW facility on the existing site or potentially onto a new site. LiRo investigated whether the existing building and site can accommodate an enlargement of the existing facility or whether a new site is more suitable. Two (2) potential new sites were also investigated as part of the feasibility study.
The Town of Maynard received an ARPA Spending Bill Earmark on May 13th, 2022, that funded this Feasibility Study.
This project was focused on thorough planning to address historically documented issues to the Department of Public Works facilities, which have surpassed their useful life. The Town’s current facility’s inability to provide necessary accommodations for the Town, including space allowances for services that have effectively been added and increased from the facilities original designed abilities and use.
